Full renovation of an apartment building's electrical system
At Tähe 22 in Tartu we renewed the building's electrical installation in full. Electrical work inside the apartments was not part of the scope. The building has six apartments and two commercial units, and each of them received a new supply cable. The main distribution board had reached the end of its service life and was replaced as part of the project. We also moved the board to a new location.
In the common areas we chased the walls for new cable runs, ran cables to every floor and installed the light fittings and socket outlets. The scope also covered the garage units fifty metres from the building: their supply cables were run through the car park in protective conduit. After the excavation we reinstated the cobblestone paving as it had been.
As additional work we prepared every apartment for an intercom system and installed a terminated fibre optic cable in each one.
The building stayed occupied throughout. Work had to be coordinated and agreed with both the residents and the commercial tenants, and the schedule fitted around other subcontractors. We commissioned an audit of the completed installation.
